Lazy Lunchtime

I am working from home today because I still don't feel real well and the sub-zero temperatures kick off coughing fits that literally hurt. Oh well, I have a great deal of concentration here, the project war room setting is cozy, but not the most condusive to mega productivity.

I received a surprise envelope yesterday, in it was a short note and knitting stitch markers. If you ever want to make someone's day, drop them a note out of the blue. If you can, add something you know they will enjoy - even a small piece of chocolate! I am involved in a group on Ravelry called RAK - random acts of kindness. It is quite an interesting place, a great study in human behavior & a wonderful reminder of how friendly & nice most people ar. Basically everyone who posts a 'wishlist' there apologizes for it or feels 'weird'. The world today seems to frown on asking for stuff (material or otherwise), but in RAK, people are giving it a try anyway. It seems like everyone is participating in some way or another, and even with the slight discomfort of 'asking for things', I think it is a wonderful example of all that is good in our world. Just reading the threads there can brighten my day.

CHALLENGE: do an random act of kindness for someone this week and let me know via comments how it went/felt.
